Android version 3.0 also known as Honeycomb has been shown only on tablets, but they should run in the future on smartphones. That and other details revealed Matias Duarte, head of Development for the the Google system in a 25-minute interview with the technology blog Engadget.
As explained by Duarte, Android 3.0 marked the beginning of a new philosophy of operation. The Android 3.0 will be introduced on smartphones with design changes to keep catchment in the near future, the manager is convinced. The tablet version is only the beginning.
One of the most visible changes from Android 3.0 is the ability to operate equipment to complete using the touchscreen without the typical four menu buttons. This allows manufacturers more freedom in designing their models. Support for buttons but still remains.
Google has also been revised the multi-tasking menu. Instead of hiding it behind a long press of the Home button, it was pointed out more clearly with its own icon. It also has a new view that shows more than just symbols of the active programs.
Another innovation is the info bar at the top of the screen. They will be informed about the most important interaction. The commands are in use, what will save the user a lengthy scroll through menus.
